Little Green Footballs and the RINO revolution

It saddens me that a once proud Conservative blog, Little Green Footballs, has gone RINO (Republican In Name Only). They have taken sides opposite our founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Ben Franklin, and Alexander Hamilton to name a few.

Why do I say this?

Well, a man named Jim Robinson decided to exercise his free speech rights and they have lost their noodles over it. Jim Robinson is the founder of FreeRepublic, a Conservative grassroots website dedicated to Conservatism. In a post he made, he called for the peaceful revolution, the replacing of the morons who are currently destroying this great nation. He, Jim Robinson, quoted one our founding documents, the Declaration of Independence, for his justification for removing an abusive government. Now no one, who has any intelligence, can deny that this government is abusive of its power. The government has taken over, nationalized, GM and Chrysler. The government is now woanting to tax energy to the point that we will be taking steps backwards to the stone age. The government is trying to nationalize 17% of the US economy in the form of forced health care on the masses. This government, and the ones before it, have driven us to the point of where we give more to them in taxes than we keep for ourselves. Our founding fathers would not have stood for us things as long as we have today. What did they do about it? Well history tells us that they shook off that oppressive abusive government and instituted a new one, safe guarding liberties and freedom.

Thomas Jefferson said it best when he said:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

Those are powerful words. Thomas Jefferson said quite a lot of powerful words. He is probably the most often quoted founding father because of his intelligence, his love of liberty and freedom, and his passion for those ideals.

So Jim Robinson posted If we could get millions of Americans to march on Washington, what would we do? and the mainstream media, leftists, socialists, communists, and RINOs have done off the deep end like slugs covered in salt. Why? Because they realize that if Americans compare what is happening to us now with what Britain did to the colonies, that their gravy train days are over.

So how do the RINOs at Little Green Footballs respond? They blame Conservatism itself! In a blog entitled Why Conservatism Sucks Right Now Rick Moran states:

The problem with all of this isn’t that the guy is a loon whose understanding of what America is all about is that of a 6 year old. The problem is in the comments to this post, as well as comments I’ve seen on just about every big conservative blog out there that support and mimic these extraordinarily idiotic and laughably exaggerated claims of what the government has been doing since Obama took office and how these actions affect our personal liberty.

There will always be a certain portion of both the right and left who are basically nuts. The hysterically exaggerated dangers of a Bush putsch were written about endlessly by the left for 8 years. Now it’s time for righty crazies to crawl out from under the rocks and dark places where they’ve been hiding to make conservatism look like an ideal home for kooks, paranoids, and other unbalanced denizens who inhabit a creepy reality of their own making that bears little resemblance to the real world.

What a total ass. So, in his mind, Obama and the Democrat majority are doing fine. I guess, according to Rick, the government isn’t working on taking our liberties and freedoms. I guess that the health care bill now before the House calls for forcing people to buy health insurance or pay 2.5% of their wages in a penalty is not a government takeover, after all, they have our best interests at heart. I also guess that the new taxes, that will take some citizens of some states, beyond the 50% of their wages going to government is ok, since government knows best how to spend our money.

Our founding fathers began a revolution over a tiny percentage of taxes and abuses. We have taken far more than they ever did. We have become sheep. We have people voting who do not pay taxes but instead live off of other taxpayers for a career. Of course these parasites are going to continue to vote for those who keep the money coming into their pockets. These people will continue to support this government because if they don’t, the good times will end. It reminds me of a video I saw earlier, and blogged about earlier. A woman named Peggy Joseph stated that she would never have to worry about putting gas in her car or paying her mortgage because if she took care of Obama (with her vote) that he’d take care of her. So I guess this mindset is ok with Rick Moran. I’m sure it’s ok with Charles Johnson over at Little Green Footballs too. His blog is titled Free Republic Found Calls for Revolution. It is just as asinine as Rick’s. In his post he hints that Jim Robinson is calling for a violent overthrow with the following line:

But don’t worry. Sure, he’s calling for a revolution, but it’s going to be non-violent. (Nudge nudge, wink wink.)

This moron sounds more like those socialists who support Obama than a Conservative. They are the ones who are calling Conservatives extremists, nut jobs, etc. Now we have a supposed Conservative following down their path. What is his pay off? Does he think that this will make the mainstream media fall in love with him? Is he stricken with John McCain disease? Does he think that maybe Meghan McCain will bear his children now that he is full of love of socialists?

Who cares about them now? They are faux Conservatives at best. They are more likely RINOs and closet socialists. Now is not the time to be in the middle, a moderate. In defense of liberty there can be no middle ground. You are either on the side of liberty or tyranny. There is no grey area. We either make our stand now or liberty and freedom as we once knew it, will be gone forever.


Senator McCaskill, you need to hire better staffers.

This video is absolutely abhorrent. Missouri taxpayers have reported that they were flipped off by staffers of Missouri Senator, Claire McCaskill. Are these the sorts of people that our Senator hires? What does this say about her mental state? What does this say about her judgement?

Senators are supposed to represent the people that elected them. Although I pray for repeal one day of the 17th amendment, until that time, they represent ALL the people of Missouri. It should also be expected that her staffers, who are paid by the taxpayers of Missouri as well, to treat the taxpayers with respect. But evidently, the staffers of Senator McCaskill’s office see themselves as above the taxpayers and that the taxpayers are not worthy of their respect.

I personally say that the voters need to remind Senator McCaskill of her manners and that if this staffer is not immediately required to apologize AND then fired, maybe we need to fire Senator McCaskill and replace her with a Missouri senator who respects those who elected them and pay their salary.

Reading a Wall Street Journal article concerning Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor, I was struck by one particular line.

Others said that if the Senate GOP were to split roughly in half, that would signal support to conservatives who oppose Judge Sotomayor without angering Hispanic voters with a wholesale dismissal of her nomination.

So, in other words, people are voting, not on their conscience or their principles, but by who might or might not be happy with them. This is how we got into this mess we are in, in the first place. People run for office on a platform that they are supposed to believe in or one that mirrors their principles. The people vote on them based on whether or not these principles line up with their own. Now all of a sudden, the GOP is deciding to vote, not on their bedrock beliefs, but on what special interest/ethnic groups might think of them. This is play politics with this nation’s future, and that is about as disgusting as it can get. The GOP is now wetting its finger and sticking it up in the air and seeing which way the black or hispanic vote is blowing that day. I’m fairly sure our founding fathers are turning over in their graves and wondering why they bothered in the first place.

I am about at that point where I am through with the GOP. I have been a Republican since before I could vote. I railed against Jimmy Carter in 1978, I was 9. I rooted for Reagan’s election in 1980, I was 11. And I worked on Reagan’s reelection campaign in 1984, if you’re good at math you’ll already have realized that I was 15 (I was born in 1969). But after Reagan, the GOP started moving away from my principles. They succumb to the blue blood liberals of the party and started a leftward drift. They decided to out democrat the democrats and begin a spending binge that has led us to the swamp we are lost in now.

What can be done? Simple. Stop enabling the GOP to do what it is doing. Give them no money. Don’t vote for a candidate if they don’t stand by the bedrock principles of limited (very small) government. If a candidate seems to worry about what the mainstream media thinks or seems to not want to piss off a special interest group, then run away, fast. The ultimate thing to do is support candidates that hold principles and show conviction in what you believe, whether or not that candidate is a Republican.

It has been hinted at that Sarah Palin is gearing up to start a third party, a Conservative party. There are numerous articles and blogs concerning Sarah Palin and her future, along with the future of Conservatives. Below are some good ones with some select quotes pulled out.

Mrs. Palin, you are now free of the Republican Party. The Party needs you more than you need it. To say that the Republican Party, on its own, has a charismatic void is a vast understatement. You are now free to wage all out war on the status quo. More importantly you are free to fashion a Reagan-esque Conservative alliance on your terms.

At the risk of being presumptuous, I would suggest the following lines of attack for your war against the Democrats and the Obama/ Pelosi / Frank/ Dodd Economy. Free market capitalism must be emphasized as our only true hope for recovery — not the crony capitalism of the Democrats.

SarahPAC raises $733,000 in first six months of 2009; Update: Rush wonders about third-party run

The majority of the money raised by SarahPAC so far has come in the form of “unitemized contributions,” meaning donations of less than $200 each. PACS are not required to name those small donors in their filings with the FEC. The remaining money came through more than 700 different $200-plus contributions made by donors from all around the United States.

Warning Signs For The Republican Party: A Third Way?

Still, it’s worth repeating. What should be heard loud and clear by the Republican elite is that, you now have a significant portion of your traditional voting base that has just about had enough and political leaders within your own party now giving voice to that serious frustration. Combined with the Tea Party movement, while it wouldn’t be easy, this all makes a third political way in America far more possible than it has been for decades.

It might be wise for the GOP to pay attention to their base and not every special interest group that comes down the pipe. Put the blue bloods back in their place, the democrat party, and go with the majority of Americans…go Conservative.


Our national disgrace

I received an email from my lovely wife earlier today. It disturbed me on a deeply personal level. It shows the shallowness of our nation, the culture we live in, and the utter idiocy of our President, Barack Obama.

For many years now, I have watched our beloved nation sink into an abyss. The culture of this country is centered around entertainment. Our national attention span has been reduced to that of a three year old child. We celebrate entertainers, no matter how vile. This email is a fine example of what is wrong with our culture. Here is the email.

Ed McMahon died. He was a great entertainer, but prior to his stage accomplishments he was a distinguished Marine Corps fighter pilot in WWII earning six Air Medals and attaining the rank of Colonel. He was discharged in 1946 and was later promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in the CA Air National Guard.

Farrah Fawcett died after a long career in Hollywood as an actress. After she was diagnosed with cancer, she became an activist for cancer treatment and devoted her last remaining years encouraging people to seek treatment She documented her plight on film and used it to encourage others to stay positive and upbeat despite their diagnosis and suffering.

Michael Jackson died. Aside from his singing and dancing, he will also be remembered for his eccentric lifestyle that included sleeping with a chimpanzee, living in a carnival-like atmosphere at Neverland, his fascination with Peter Pan, and his numerous masks and costumes. He also admitted to finding pleasure sleeping with young boys and paying out millions of dollars in settlements to the families of these boys despite being acquitted by a court on one allegation of sexual molestation.

QUESTION – Which of the above did the House of Representatives declare a moment of silence for today? (Hint – It wasn’t the first two.)

QUESTION – Which of the above’s family received a personal note of condolence from President Obama? (Hint – It wasn’t the first two.)

Pathetic, isn’t it.

The House of Representatives gave a moment of silence for Michael Jackson but not a decorated war hero. That shows that our political class is as corrupted as the culture. This nation is sick, possibly terminal. When the people of this country can name every American Idol winner since the show began but can’t name their own Representative or name the people who sit on the Supreme Court, something drastic needs to happen. This is the result of the decay of the educational establishment for the last thirty years. We are raising people who can’t look past 30 second sound bytes. They can’t think for themselves. They rely upon the mainstream media to tell them what is happening AND what to think about it. We have become a nation of sheep. We are churning out of high schools people who may FEEL good about themselves but don’t know a thing about the real world. They have been programmed for year concerning social issues but not historical. While other countries concentrate on math and science, our public schools concentrate on gay rights, afro-centric curriculum, and environmental feel goodism. It’s no wonder we are falling behind other industrialized nations. We are headed for third world status.

How do we fix it?

There is a long list of items that are needed to fix this mess and it will take decades to reverse the trend. I will touch on these items in future postings. Right now, this whole mess has made me physically sick.


My Congessman, the Socialist

The following was received by me from my Representative concerning Cap & Trade. Notice the rambling democratic talking points and utter lunacy. He actually writes that Cap & Tax, I mean Trade, will actually produce a SURPLUS FEDERAL BUDGET. This guy needs to be checked for insanity.

Thank you for contacting me regarding H.R.2454 The American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009. I appreciate hearing from you on this important issue.

As you may know, this legislation is designed to reduce carbon emissions by 17% by 2020, achieve energy independence, reduce pollution, and transition to a clean energy economy. A primary concern with H.R. 2454 is that it would result in a significant tax increase on the electrical and energy bills of American families. I assure you that I have worked tirelessly with members of Congress to protect consumers from rising energy costs. According to the Congressional Budget Office, this legislation reducing carbon emissions will cost Americans less than 30 cents per day. By the year 2020, energy bills will, in fact, cost the average American family less than they would without the legislation’s efficiency provisions. The program does this by freely distributing a portion of allowances in the cap and trade market to utilities, natural gas distributers and refiners to ensure that their rates to American families do not increase.

The American Clean Energy and Security Act takes significant steps to protect some of the poorest American families. Provisions are included to protect the bottom two quintiles of households from any energy cost increases, including distributing 15 percent of the allowances in the cap and trade market back to American families through direct payments and tax credits. The Center for Budget and Policy Priorities estimates that these provisions will fully protect the bottom quintile of families and part of the next quintile from any direct or indirect energy price increases.

Concerns have also been raised as to whether H.R. 2454 will contribute to our nation’s deficit. This legislation is estimated to raise over $846 billion of revenue over the next ten years and will ultimately result in a $24 billion dollar federal surplus. Congress has worked with oil companies, labor unions, major manufactures and environmentalists groups on this bill to ensure that any legislation passed will be in the best interest of Americans, our environment, and our nation’s recovering economy.

An important aspect of this bill is its investment in America’s clean energy sector and pathways to careers for Americans. Almost $1 billion in funding for job training programs is provided in the bill, and it ensures local access to quality jobs in green construction. Millions of dollars are invested in energy efficiency and renewable energy, advanced technology vehicles, and basic research and development. This particular provision was very important to me, and I was proud to fight for the inclusion of these job training provisions because they not only provide needed jobs for American workers but pathways to life-long careers.

While H.R. 2454 is not perfect, it is a monumental step in our nation’s fight against climate change. The evidence in support of global warming is overwhelming and we simply cannot afford to continue delaying the consequences for future generations. As a member of the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming, I was proud to support this bill. It will set us on the path to energy independence, create jobs for millions of Americans, and provide a cleaner and safer environment.

The American Clean Energy and Security Act passed in the House of Representatives on Friday, June 26, 2009 with a vote of 219-212. The legislation must now be passed in the Senate before becoming law.

Th U.S. is NOT a democracy

I am saddened by a lot of people’s knowledge of our country and its founding. Many people believe that the United States is a democracy. It is not. The United States is a Constitutional Republic. Let us begin with a couple of definitions.

Republic – a government in which supreme power resides in a body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives responsible to them and governing according to law.

Democracy – : government by the people ; especially : rule of the majority b: a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections

The former is what they United States is, a Republic. Does anyone ever actually listen to the words of the Pledge of Allegiance? “And to the REPUBLIC for which it stands”. How hard is that?

In a democracy, 51% of the people can take away the rights of the other 49%. Let’s say that the liberals want to go down this path. Now let’s say that 51% of the people decide that homosexuality should not be recognized. So the 51% vote to outlaw homosexuality. What now? It’s what the liberals decided they wanted in the form of a government, right? Now let’s say that 51% decide that abortion is bad. So that 51% vote to outlaw ANY abortions. What now? It’s the form of government that the liberals and lazy asses wanted. Now they have it but it’s turned on them. I’ll bet it wouldn’t be long before they were dreaming of bringing back the Republic. Now, on to the people who really count.

Our founding fathers knew that a democracy was a bad thing. If you don’t believe me, read their words for yourself.

“We are now forming a Republican form of government. Real Liberty is not found in the extremes of democracy, but in moderate governments. If we incline too much to democracy, we shall soon shoot into a monarchy, or some other form of dictatorship.” – Alexander Hamilton

Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote. – Benjamin Franklin

“…democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths.” – James Madison, the Father of the Constitution

These are the men who set our Republic. They did not want a democracy, they knew what it would become. One of the greatest quotes on a democracy foretold what we are going through today in this country.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can exist only until the voters discover they can vote themselves largess out of the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that democracy always collapses over a loose fiscal policy, always to be followed by a dictatorship.” – Alexander Fraser Tyler.

People voting for people who keep the gravy train running through their houses? Does that sound familiar? That’s how an inexperienced “community organizer” gets elected President of the most powerful nation on earth. He told people he was going to basically keep that gravy train running. He promised the treasury through government run health care, taxes raised on the “rich”, and promises that government would come tuck their lazy good for nothing asses in at night.

What we need is a return to our roots. We need to return to the form of government that our founding fathers gave to us…A REPUBLIC.

How? First set, get rid of the 17th Amendment of the US Constitution. Give the states back their seat at the federal table. Only through the removal of the 17th Amendment can we put a rein back on the federal government. The people already have a house…the House of Representatives. They do not need another one in the Senate. Our founding fathers knew what they were doing by having the States select senators. This brilliant form of government gave the people one leg, the House and the States the other, the Senate. It worked for a long time. It’s time we return to it NOW.
